Format Notes
Twelve teams are split into three groups, with the top two teams in each group as well as the top 2 third-ranked teams qualifying for the quarterfinals. The knockout stages are an eight-team single elimination bracket.
Coach Bios
Erin Virtue, USA (head coach, 2023-present): Erin Virtue is the current head coach of the Michigan Wolverines volleyball team, and will attend her second Olympics as an assistant coach of the USA women’s team. She was an assistant coach on the team that won gold in Tokyo.
Coley Pawlikowski, USA (assistant coach, 2023-present): Pawlikowski is the Director of Volleyball Operations at Michigan. She will be attending her first Olympics as team manager for the USA women’s team.
